Finished Things.......

I finally finished the first of Jordan's socks....hoping to have them done and sent to her for Valentines day. The mate is almost to the heel, got a lot done on it sitting at the hospital with Mom on Wed. I have some orders for a few photographer friends to get done in the meantime.
This is one of the baby cocoons that photographers love. I can't wait to see some photos with babies in it! Here is one that is a nest....this photo doesn't do it justice.

And a  cute little hat for a boy.

I'm on my way to Zurich today......wish I didn't have to go. Mom is still in the hospital, but doing better. Just talked to her and they are seriously thinking about a pacemaker. Hopefully not until I get back.

This is a photo of my little dog Coco.....he is very sick, with lymphoma and emphysema. I hate leaving him too. He is so sweet and just the best dog ever.
Here he is with a snow beard!

Steelers vs Jets

The FAA has issued a travel alert for Pittsburgh for Sunday, January 23. The agency anticipates the catastrophic crash of jets, due to a massive steel curtain. The FAA further advises, however, that this travel alert does not apply to air traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport. The only jets at risk are the ones attempting to land at Heinz Field.

Isn't that funny?

This is our USAirways Steeler airplane!

I'm going to miss the game today:(

I'm in PHL waiting to go to Madrid.....just got back last night from Munich. It's a long 6 days.

Munich was alot of fun....we found an Italian resturant that rivals any in Italy. It was awesome....This is their business card. Therer were 6 of us at dinner and the owner kept bringing us dish after dish, family style. With 3 bottles of wine, appetizers, antipasta, pasta, dessert and Proseco it was only 20 euros a person.
This is the antipasta:

This is the gang:

I can't wait to go back!!!
Being gone this long, I'm getting alot of knitting and reading done. I finished the book The Tunnels, its a crime drama...not to bad and I'm almost done with James Pattersons Cross Fire. I always love his books, they are such and easy read.
I finished these 2 mini purses:
I made them with leftover yarn....the green from Jordan's socks and the other from Alex's gloves. They turned out pretty. Now lets hope someone else thinks so and buys them!!!

I'm making headway on Jordan's new socks too! Turned the heel and working on the foot.

I've been so busy with special orders for my photographer friend.....I didn't take photos.....I'm waitinng for hers. They are baby cocoons and baby hats.......they are so cute. I even got 4 more orders from another photographer by showing them to her! I just wish I had the yarn with me to work on them!
I can't wait to get home on Tues!!!

Steelers vs Ravens..........Go Steelers!!!

The game is making me nervous......thought we were going to lose but looks like we have a wonderful chance in winning it!
Anyways I can't watch anymore.....so I've been working on my pattern for this darling little baby hat I designed. I'm getting it ready to post on Ravelry in the next day or so. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Here is a sneak preview....

It's a combination of knit and crochet. I just love it!!! I hope to have some photos with it on a baby soon. I'm taking it to the photographer Monday.

My daughter just told me the Steelers won!!!! 31-24! Someone it the neighborhood is setting off fireworks! Crazy Steelers fans really love their team!

Tomorrow we are taking #2 daughter back to college......I've cried when I saw her packing earlier. I'm going to miss her. She is such a hoot...she wanted meatloaf for dinner. What a thing to be hungry for on your last night at home! It was really good.

The airport......

So I was 3 hours late leaving Dublin yesterday. But I made good use of my time......by checking out the airport shops. They had a nice selection of Irish crafts and knits. I just love these little sheep...

and these handknit wool sweaters......especially the little girl pink!
One day maybe I can afford the Bellek china! Isn't it pretty?

I also got alot of my own knitting done...I finished 2 more little purses and worked on Jordan's new socks on this trip. Photos to come later.
Last but not least here is my wayward aircraft finally arriving from the states!

It was good to go home!

Dublin

Well, I took the Dublin trip so I could get home early on Monday (today) and I guess it's not going to happen......our inbound aircraft is running 3 hours late. :( I decided to treat myself to breakfast this morning at the hotel and found these beautiful flowers on the table. How cheery they are!
One bright spot on a cold winter morning!

Home at Last!

It's good to be home! I missed Glenn and the kids.....Jordan is only home for another week and a half and then shes back to college. I'm lucky that Jared is going to college here at home so I can get my kid fix! Alex left last week and started classes this past Monday. It's hard to believe that my little people are all grown up:(
Anyways, I figured out the picture thing.
This is the sock I started .....almost ready to turn the heel. I just love this pattern...its sort of a crosshatch. It's hard to see in this photo and will stand out better after blocking. These are for Jordan. She goes to school in snow country up in New York. These will keep her nice and toasty.
I'm making them from:
50% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 25% Bamboo
Deborah Norville Collection     The colorway is Teal Tease. Love them!

This is the Mini Purse. I'm using up some dk weight yarn I got in Frankfurt and used for fingerless gloves I designed for Alex. These little purses can be used for money, jewelry, I-pods, cell phones, rosary beads, etc...  They are addicting to make! I really enjoy knitting with the beads. Here is another colorway:
I finished this one too on this trip. Just have to finish the I cord. It's made from a cotton yarn called Grace....can't remember who makes it. Here are some other ones in my stash, Hopefully I will be able to sell a few the next time I go to work.

Aren't they cute!! That's all for now.....I have a busy day catching up with everything here after being gone for days!

Almost Home

Well its day 3 of this 4 day trip......not so bad. I'm in New Orleans and this has probably been the warmest place I've been in 3 days. I just looked at Pittsburgh and it's only 23* there so I'll enjoy it here even though it's so brief.
We stay at a casino off the beaten path in Las Vegas. I'm not a gambler, but I did play some slots this morning and won $10! That was fun!
Tomorrow I'm going to try and figure out how to post photos on here and put pictures of the 2 little purses I knit and the half a sock I got done while I've been gone. I would have had more done but it's been fun being with my friend and catching up with her.
I'm tired and have to get up early in the am. Can't wait to get home tomorrow!

Happy 2011!!!

Trying to get my packing done for my first trip of 2011 tomorrow. I have a 4 day domestic trip.....I've not flown anything in this country for 3 years! I love my international flying. But I promised my friend Mary Jo that I'd go with her this week.
I'll be spending the night in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and New Orleans the next 3 nights. I'm having a hard time deciding which Knitting projects to bring with me. I have so many things started and I have so many things planned! God forbid that I run out of things to do!
I'm also bringing Iris Johansens new book, "Chasing the night" with me to read. It looks like a good one!
