New Bracelet

Well I think I have a winner! I was using up some xtra beads and knit up this pretty bracelet........then I wore it to work and a few parties and to get my hair done.......and got 10 orders for it! Woohoo!

Now I just have to find the time to make them along with all my hat and pouch orders. A friend of mine from work ordered 10 little pouches to give as Christmas gifts, she is going to put lottery tickets in them for friends, hairdresser, etc. Isn't that a clever idea?

Today I'm going to Bucknell University to watch Jordie play soccer. It's about a 4 1/2 hr drive. I'm driving up with a friend of ours whose daughter is the goalie on the team. So I have a bunch of beads strung because I'll have lots of time to knit!

And Another.........

Wow! Seems all I can do is post the books I've read! There has been no time to just sit down and write. I'm astounded at how fast this summer has gone. On Sat. I have to take my youngest daughter back to school....preseason starts for her on Sun. Then we will begin to travel back and forth every week to see her soccer games. I really enjoy doing that!
I have had a good time flying this summer....I went to Athens for the first time, and I've worked alot with friends. But we got bad news last week...Southwest airlines is pulling out of the PIT-PHL market in Jan. I usually travel home from PHL on them every week. It's really going to make my commute next to impossible. I can only hope and pray that USAir adds more flts or bigger airplanes between PIT and PHL. Well.....I can always take the Mega bus!
I still seem to be knitting the same old things...not that I'm bored ...it's just I have alot of ideas and no time to make them. My jewelry and pouches are still selling...the eye glass ones too. And I have a bunch of hat orders too. Well that's what I wanted...to make money!
I'm off to Frankfurt tomorrow with my good friend so it will be a fun trip. Until the next time.....I find some time.......

A Month Gone By......

It's so hard to believe this month has flown by....jam packed full too! First of all my oldest graduated from Ohio University with a degree in criminology. I am soooo proud of her!

 She now wants to go to law school.....and is studying for the L-Sats and working. My other 2 are hard at work also trying to make enough money to get them through the next school year. Which leaves me, when I'm in town with no car! I've been traveling quite a bit though, trying to make some xtra cash! Last week I was in Rome and got to work with 4 friends from Pittsburgh. We had a ball!

Today I am headed for Athens....I've never been there so it should be an adventure! Hopefully someone on my crew will show me around.

I'm still hard at work knitting. MyBaby Bear hat is a great seller, both the pattern and hat. My little bags are doing well too. I've not had much time for anything else. Lots of ideas are floating around in my head though! Until the next minute I get........Ciao!!

It's summer!

Wow is it hot! We hardly had a spring.....it just went to summer! It's already 87* out! I just got finished planting all my flowers...I love working in the dirt!

Hibiscus

I never did get to the Wine Festival in Frankfurt last week. We took off from PHL and were about 1-1/2 hours away and had to return to the states for a mechanical problem. I was so looking forward to that trip too....I was with 2 of my very good friends. The only good thing is that I got to come home, had 2 xtra says off and got paid for the trip! I'm headed back that way again tomorrow. Hopefully!

The End of May

Wow....it's the end of May already. Life is passing by at an alarming rate!!!!
I've been busy with work and moving Jordan back for the summer (yea!). My knitting has consisted of my little bags  and bracelets.......but that's whats selling. Hopefully one day soon I can catch up on some other projects I have in mind.
I'm in Brussels right now waiting for it to be time to leave for the airport....my trip home is running late. It was a lovely day here yesterday...and I forgot my camera. It's a very easy city to get around with lots to see and do. We had a wonderful dinner at Amadeus a rib resturant in the city .....I just love their ecclectic decor and the food was wonderful. And of course whats a trip to Belgium without having waffles...they are to die for!

I'm looking forward to my trip to Frankfurt on Tues, I'm flying with 2 very dear friends and there is a Wine festival down the street from the hotel that starts on Wed....I will bring my camera!

Crazy Spring!

This has been such a crazy spring......the weather, work, the kids, the husband, mom.......no time left for me:(

I've been traveling quite a bit...mostly to Frankfurt and Rome. That has been alot of fun because I've been able to work with friends.  Check out the cute duck family walking by the Main River in Frankfurt:

It was such a beautiful day to take a walk!

We took a tour of St. Bartholomeus's Cathedral which was built in the 14th century. Very beautiful!

I also got to spend Mothers weekend at my oldest daughters college.....it's the last one as she graduates in June. How did I get this old??? And my 2 freshmen twins are finished with their finals this week. It seems like yesterday I put them on the bus for kindergarten!

I finished an eyeglass case this past week, I just increased the length of my mini bags and did a kitchner stitch closing on the bottom.

The rest of my knitting has been hat orders and little bags. I have a necklace I just finished but haven't gotten a photo yet. Well I'm off to Frankfurt again with my friend Mary Jo....fun! Til next time Ciao!!!

Where are the days going?

Well I'm back to work tomorrow.....my 6 days off flew by. I'll be in Frankfurt again. Yesterday Jordan's soccer team came to Pittsburgh to play at  Pitt. It was areally awful day....rainy and windy. The girls were drenched. I fed all 25 members of the team and staff....no small feat as I had to bring it to the field. Here is Jordan.....all wet.

I felt so bad for her, but she took it all in stride!

I'm still busy filling orders, I got 2 more at the hair salon on Thurs.

When I get back home Wed. Jordan and her roomate will be here for Easter break...I just love having the kids here. Her's and Jareds Birthday is on Sat...my babies will be 19. And Alex will be 22 on Easter Sunday. She isn't able to come home from school for it but will be home the following weekend so we'll celebrate then.

Yesterday....

On my way home from Frankfurt yesterday, one of my passengers was knitting the most beautiful baby blanket. It was all in cotton and she was using size 8 needles. It was soooo squishy and soft and bright airy! I want to make one.....sometime! She was using bright pink, yellow, green, blue and white. It was really quite something. I found a pattern here:

but this on calls for a smaller needle and isn't in those pretty colors.  This definitely is going in my notebook of things to knit......when I have the time!

I sold 7 mini bags this trip and have orders for 4 more so things are piling up around here. I also sold the fabulous red bracelet. A good week!

The best news I got was this morning....mom is finally coming home from the hospital tomorrow...after being in there for 13 days. Hopefully they will have all her medicine straightened out.
Ok that's all for now, its a rainy ugly day here at home so.....I'm off to fill my orders!

It's April Already :(

Boy, time keeps flying by! And I'm not getting much accomplished. My mom is back in the hopsital again...since April 1st when I took her for her checkup. I told her I wasn't going to the Dr anymore with her because everytime I do...he admits her. Good news...she is getting better!
My photographer friend sent me this wonderful photo of a baby in one of my owl hats...isn't it great!!!

I can't wait to see more!

Sales at work have been really good....the bracelet and mini purses are flying out the door so to speak. And I still have some orders so I haven't been able to come up with anything new recently...but they are in the works. The baby bear hat pattern is selling steadily on the internet. The Strawberry cocoon pattern is almost ready to put into print.  

I've been doing alot of reading recently...it seems all the library books I get are 7 day books. I  had 3 this past week. I really liked "Devious" by Lisa Jackson...just love her stories. And "These Things Hidden" by Heather Gudenkauf  was a good one too....kept my interest and didn't end how I thought.

Tomorrow I'm back to Frankfurt and home on Monday. Should be a nice relaxing trip....everything is closed there on Sundays so we will probably go for a nice walk, go to Happy Hour and then out to dinner....sounds good to me!
